You've set up your publication and you've crafted your first post. You're so eager to share your content with the world, so you hit publish and the deed is done. But then your newsletter lands in your inbox and you see it: a typo!

We all make mistakes, but some are avoidable. Before you hit the publish button, it's always good to run a few last minute checks to make sure your post is as good as it can be. To make sure you're ready to go, here's a few key things to check before you hit publish.

Check your article settings

On the left hand side of the editor sits the Article settings pane. This allows you to set a few channel-specific features of your post. Be sure to check them all:

Send yourself a test

One of the most important - and most overlooked - parts of the writing process is checking your work. If you're sending your article via email, you should always send yourself a test email.

This allows you to proof your subject line and article content in context, and also check for any rendering errors that might arise in email platforms - just hit Send Test Email.
